Winter is here!!!

Winter is here, I absolutely love the Christmas season. Time with family and friends, buying presents for people. I love it!!!
I'm not a big fan of the driving in snow part, although I'm sure I'll survive (I hope)! On Saturday I drove from Hamilton to London (which would normally take just over an hour) well this time it took me close to 3hours. I don't think my car went more then 65kms, and for an hour of it I was only going 40kms. Well here's hoping everyone has safe travels this busy season.
I'm really looking forward to my time off, especially going to Quebec for Jewel's wedding. Woah! What a busy time!

I'm getting my fix!

Well I'm very happy to say that I have my laptop back. I was so excited to be able to pick it up after work today :).

Unfortunately there won't be any Movie Monday this week but I will be back with Wordless Wednesday.

I've had a pretty bad couple of weeks...with the withdrawal from the internet, youtube, and my laptop...to the horrible pain in my back/chest. I didn't realize one rib could cause so much pain.

Well I must be going...so many youtube videos so little time!

Going through WITHDRAWAL

I can't believe it, I was all excited to do my Wordless Wednesday yesterday, then do a blog today. But my laptop has died! I can't believe it. It's just a year old! So I've taken it back to future shop (thankfully I purchased the extended warranty). Now I just have to wait for them to send it away to try and fix it. I've been told this could take 2-5 weeks :(. So I'm pretty sad that I'm going to miss a couple of Wordless Wednesday, since I don't have access to my thousands of pictures.
Even worse is then not having access to my pics is the fact that there is a %50 chance everything. EVERYTHING!!! My pics, all my music (over 3000songs), all my documents! I backed up my pics about 6 months ago. All my songs are on my iPod, but that isn't the whole file, so I'd never be able to burn mixed cds of them. And I've never backed up any of my other documents though...OyVey!!!

Well here's hoping I can stick to my commitment to blogging with out my laptop!

It was one of those Mondays. Work dragged on and on. Hopefully today wasn't any example of what the rest of the week will be like. This week one of my co-workers goes down to part time, and I'm expecting my work to go up a bit. Not that I'll mind it defiantly will help the time to go by faster. And I don't mind doing stuff to help her out.

Hometown Meme

Amy did this meme on her blog this week, and it seemed like a fun one to do. I'm not going to do it about the town I'm living in now, instead I'll do it on the town I grew up in and still drive to at least 5 times a week.

Best Place to Eat: Well, there is Pizza, Pizza, and more Pizza (no seriously there is about 7 or more places to get Pizza. If you don't want pizza I'd I'd recommend would be Jonny Bucks (Bar & Grill). A place I wouldn't necessarily recommend for the food, even though I'm a regular at is Roy's Coffee Shoppe (it's a small dinner, everyone knows everyone)

Best Shopping Mall: The only mall that we have is the Kenwick Mall (which has about 7 stores, inculding: Food Basics, Shoppers Drug Mart, and some privately owned shops).

Famous Landmark: The Old Clock Tower

Best Place for Kids: I don't know maybe the skate park or any of the parks, there's lots. There is also Glow-in-the-Dark Bowling.

Popular Outdoor Activity: Biking, there are some great bike trails through the conservation area. Or Swimming at the Town Pool in the summer (since it's outdoors)

Breathtaking View: I don't know...I really like how everything looks in the fall when all the Corn is really high (yeah It's a farm town). All around town is beautiful country side.

Only found in my hometown: An Ice Cream Shoppe called the Cool Cumcumber. The head office for Cuddy Farms, and Grey Eggs. My Church and Family!

Movie Monday - I Can Only Imagine

I'd like to dedicate this blog to the Flooren Family, and anyone else who was close to Michelle.

On Saturday while I was at the conference we were singing a song and I was just singing and (unfortunately) not paying attention to what the song was saying since I was doing the media. As I sang the words: "when we all get to heaven what a day of rejoicing we will be, when we all see Jesus..." (you know the rest). All the sudden it hit me...Michelle is there RIGHT NOW. (I mean I knew that already). And from what I hear her funeral was a huge celebration of that (I wasn't able to get the time off work).

But suddenly the AWESOMENESS of that, the fact that I can't even fathom what JOY she is experiencing. A perfect, sinless, painless place that I've heard of since I was in sunday school. I don't think I'd ever thought of it this way before. As in she is in the PRESENCE (the VERY PRESENCE) of our HOLY FATHER. WOW, WOW!!!

I tried to remember the time I'd felt the closest to God. It was probably a concert in Michigan in a stadium with 25000 people and the lights almost dark and the Newboys, with Jeremy Camp. All of them sitting on stools doing a quiet acoustic worship time. It is going to be BIGGER and BETTER then that. WOW I just can't imagine what it will be like to be IN HEAVEN! Forever, FOREVER!!! WOW!!!

And for a moment I was a bit jealous of Michelle. I really can't wait!!!

Forgiveness

I don't really have an excuse, except the same old life is busy. But it pretty much comes down to the fact that I haven't been making it a priority. But I've decided I'm going to. Starting here and now this is going to be a priority.

I am going to continue to do my Wordless Wednesday. I'm going to starting doing Movie Monday, which mean's I'll be sharing either a video I've found on YouTube, or a video Blog. Then I'm going to try at do a writen Blog two times a week.

Long Weekend Road Trip

This weekend Jocey and I went on a road trip to Muskoka. We had such a GREAT time!!! Besides this video that we made, we took LOTS of pictures. They can all be viewed on Facebook. It was so great to see all my friends from Huntsville again. Especially Chrissy, and the McDougall Family!!!! I missed everyone so much.

Friendship & Thoughts

I've been deep in thought for the last couple of hours...thinking about life, and friendship, and other random things. Like what I will wear to work tomorrow (it's harder then you think).

I have some many things to be thankful for; I live in a wonderful country, I have an amazing family, and amazing friends. I have so many people that have come into my life that I absolutely LOVE. They mean the world to me. Even though I don't see a lot of you all. And there are far to many of you to name. But top of that list would have to be my BEST friend, she has been there all my life, she knows everything about me, my mom. And I'm not just saying this cuz it's mother's day this weekend, anyone who knows me knows how close I am with her.

Anyways enough of me rambling on, I love you ALL!!!!

Great Vacation!!!

Orlando was great. We had amazing weather. Saturday it was high 80's (when we got in the car it was 94 degrees) great weather for a full day of sun tanning and floating around the lazy river.
But now I'm back in Canada, I had such a good time. It was so great to get away from "life" and relax, refocus, and now I can come back to "life" fresh and ready to take on everything!!!
Speaking of coming back to "life" on my way back from the Detroit airport I had an ugly run in with reality. I'm very sad to say that I was pulled over for the very first time, and received my very first speeding ticket :( I was soo scared!!! That is something I don't want to ever happen again. So I now owe the State of Michigan $85USD. Stupid speed limit!
Work is soo busy, lots of work stacked up well I was off, so it's been crazy trying to get caught up again. Hopefully it won't take to long.
Speaking of work, I'd like to ask you all to pray for one of my co-workers, her husband past away yesterday. :( So please keep them in your thoughts.

Florida-day 3 & 4

Well it has been such a fun week. The last 2 days have been spent my the pool both swimming and sun tanning, yes it's been rough. I'm proud to say I have made some progress on the tan. I can't wait to see how good it is at the end of my vacation. Tomorrow we leave for Orlando for the weekend. We are going to stay at a 4 star resort for 3 days. I'm pretty excited, since I've never been to Orlando, let alone a four star resort. I think the only resort I've been to is MBC and it kinda wouldn't qualify as a four star resort. I will not be adding a blog till Sunday or Monday now, so you until then I hope you all have a good weekend. Try to stay warm.

My second day in Florida was great!!! We got up at 6am and left for Tampa. We spent the whole day at Busch Gardens. I rode all the roller coasters. My favourite was the Montu, in which you go upside down 7 times. WHOOOHOOO!!!! I also went on SheiKra, which has 2 90 degree drops on of which you drop 200 feet. Amy went on that one too. The best was when I was in the front row, I took a video of it. I hope you enjoy.
We stayed in the park till about 5:30 when we left because it was raining :(

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!!!!
Well, my first day of florida was amazing!!! We got up, went to church. Then went to the Marco Island Beach. Then we went for an Easter turkey dinner at Grandma & Grandpa Reed's. Then spent the rest of the day lounging by the pool. It was a beautiful sunny day (80 degrees). And considering the fact that I didn't burn my pale WHITE skin I'd say it was a pretty successful day.
Tomorrow is off to a full day at Bucsh Gardens. FUN FUN FUN !!!!!! I'm working on a video I'll get it up as soon as it's done.

Must be Spring...

I'm pretty excited about how nice out it was today. It was GORGEOUS!!! I'm proud to say that I was wearing sandals, and showing off my freshly painted toe nails. I LOVE IT!!! This past weekend I was at Women of Grace in Sarina. I went really well. It was really great to see Betty and some of the other staff that were there. Kevin (my brother) came home with me and is home for 2 weeks. Now it's back to work for another week. This week isn't nearly as busy as the last couple of week have been, so hopefully I will get to enjoy some of this beautiful weather.

So I got a Kitty Cat (well more cat and less kitty). I got her last Friday, you maybe wondering why it's taken me so long to share her with you, well that's because she's been a bit of a frady cat. She's been hiding until last night. When she finally spent some time with me. Then tonight as you can see in this picture she was up on the couch being my friend....YEAH she came out to see me finally....now she is out exploring my apartment. I'm having a house warming party on Friday night I don't think she will like that very much she'll probably hide again. The good news is the house will be quite again on Saturday. When I will be babysitting Ethan and Mikayla. I hope Amy has fun and Test The Nation, lucky. I hope her brain comes back by then.
Well I must be going to bed now so as not to cranky tomorrow at work...Amy doesn't like it when I'm cranky at work....she makes fun of me. :(

All moved, Long week

Well I am happy to say I am all moved into my new place. I really really like it. It will be so nice once I get everything unpacked, right now most of my life is still in boxes. I still need to go grocery shopping since I have no food, and I ran out of toilet paper yesterday night...and I couldn't find the box of Kleenex I know I unpacked, so I had to hold it till I got to work this morning. I know it's sad.

Speaking of sad, this week has been very sad. It's been pretty crappy at work, I've been all alone, Amy has been off having fun at the court house (she is doing jury duty), and has left me all alone at work with crazy people calling, and stupid collect call guy that calls every day for a certain lawyer that never takes his call. GRRRR!!!!

Well I hope you are all having a good week. I'm sorry that I haven't written in awhile I've been busy getting ready to move, but now that I am in my new place I will hopefully get back into some kind of routine.

Almost Moving Day

Well it isn't officially 'moving day' yet, but I have started moving. I started this week. I've been bring in car loads of boxes when I come in to work and dropping them off on my way home (since I drive right past my new place anyways). I only have 4 more boxes in my parents basement, plus however many boxes of clothes I have to pack in my bedroom. It should only be one more trip and all my boxes will be in my new place. Then my dad is going to help me move all my furniture (dinning room table, bed, chair, dressers, microwave stand, etc) it should all fit in a mini van except the futon...I'm still not sure how we are getting that to my place. Hopefully we'll figure something out...if anyone has a pick up they'd like to offer let me know.

Great Weekend

This weekend was lots of fun. It was great to see all my friends from Huntsville again. The drive was good. We got there just after 9. Saturday was really relaxing. I got up and played with the 3 kids, then we all went to Emily's basketball game, then back to the house to hang out and relax all day (so nice) then Saturday night we watched a movie. We rented Half Nelson...I don't recommend it. It a crappy movie with crappy ending, and it was just really long and crappy. Then on Sunday I went to church and then went to MBC for the afternoon to hang out with Chrissy. We rented another movie...this time it was a really good one. It's called 'One Night with the King' it is the story of Esther, which I already love. It was really well done. I loved it....I would definitly recommend it. I was very surprised and how close they stuck the original. Good Job Hollywood.

Roadtrip

Yeah I made it through another week. I leave for my weekend roadtrip in less them 2 hours. YEAH!!! I can't wait to see my friends. It'll be so great to be back in Huntsville, and to visit my old church.

I hope you all have a good weekend. I know I will and if it isn't good enough already the Daytona 500 is this Sunday YES!!!!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

I hope that everyone is having a really good day. Mine has been kinda crappy. I wish I was in Florida with my favorite girls or in Huntsville with the McDougalls.

I'm going to Huntsville this weekend. YEAH!!! I can't wait.

Some more exciting news...I talked to my new land lady today and confirmed that I will be taking the apartment. So I move in 2 weeks. I'm soo excited. I can't wait!!!

Last weekend was lots of fun. It wasn't too cold, mind you it definitly wasn't warm. But we had a great time. I got home on Sunday aroung 3:30 and couldn't wait to have a hot shower and snuggle into a warm blanket on the couch.

FAST!!!

This week seems to have flown by. I can't believe tomorrow is already Friday. And if tomorrow is Friday that means today is Thursday (I know I'm a genius), the point is it's my favorite day of the whole week. GREY'S ANATOMY night, yeah!!!! Tonight is also the season premiere of Survivor Fiji. I haven't watched Survivor for the last 2 seasons because I was getting bored of it. But I'm embarrassed to say I'm actually looking forward to this season, it looks pretty interesting. So Survivor will be added to my busy Thursday night line up, joining CSI, ER, the OC (which is over very soon), and last but DEFINITELY not least Grey's Anatomy.

Tonight I am also going to be packing and getting ready for this weekend. Because tomorrow right after work I'm going camping. Yeah I know it's crazy camping in the winter. I say that now but by Sunday morning...we'll have to see. I do hope I have as much fun this year as I have in the past. Don't worry I'll blog all about it after the weekend.

T.G.I. Fridays

Last nights episode of Grey's Anatomy was soo amazing. Not that I'm surprised, I don't think there has been an episode I haven't liked yet. I think most oh you will agree it is the best show on television.

Oh how I love Fridays!!! Another week of work has come and gone and the weekend is here again. YEAH! (houga-bouga)
This weekend I'm going to Chatham to see my friend and ex roomie Janine. I'm super excited and I can't wait. And on Sunday it is Mikayla's Birthday party, she is turning 2 years old...she is SUPER cute. And I may go to Guelph on Sunday night to visit my friend Chrissy who lives in Huntsville but is coming to Guelph this weekend. So as you see I'll be putting a lot of kms on Emily (my little car) this weekend. Good thing she'll fixed from the little incident I had last week. oops!

Like a virgin

This is my first blog...it's kinda exciting. Everyday I make sure I read all of my friends blogs, I thought it was time I start contributing. I'm not sure how good I'm going to be at it but I'll try my best.

So let me introduce myself:

My name is Melissa, I'm 20 years old. I work for a Law Firm in London as the receptionist. The people there are great. And it's so nice to have every weekend off now.

When I'm not at work I'm usually at home on my laptop (facebook, msn messenger, and reading friends blogs), or out with friends, or watching my favorite shows (top of the list is definitely Grey's Anatomy)

I also love scrap booking, photography, nascar (go Jeff Gordon), going to the movies, and road trips. That's about all I'm going to tell you right now about ME.

So since I've been working in London and living in Strathroy that means commuting 90 minutes everyday. So yesterday I went and looked at an apartment in London I think I'm going to take it. It's really nice and only 15-20 minutes from my work. I'll keep you posted on the big move.
